Two out of eight

The Center for Folk Art Production in cooperation with The School of Applied Arts of Josef Vydra (ŠÚV), is presenting the second installment of exhibitions in a series of eight titled "Two Out of Eight" beginning Friday, February 7th at the ÚĽUV Design Studio on Dobrovicova 13. Between February 7th and the 22nd of March 2014, the schools departments of Restoration and Promotional Art Design will exhibit their works to the public.

The Restoration and Preservation of Wood is one of the youngest departments at ŠÚV Josef Vydra, currently specializing in the restoration and preservation of wood monuments. Restoration projects coming to the department are developed in collaboration with several institutions including the City Museum Bratislava, Slovak National Gallery SNM, Historical Museum SNM, Castle of Červený Kameň SNM, Museum of Bojnice SNM, and the Museum of Western Slovakia in Trnava.

In the portfolio of the Departments of Promotional Art Design works can be found relating to product design, graphic designs of logos, posters, works addressing the overall visual identities, book and cover designs, artists' books, interior designs, and exhibit and stage design implementation. The Department emphasizes the importance of maintaining a working relationship with the external environment, for example it is currently cooperating with Bratislava's Gallery 19, for which it has implemented several posters for the gallery exhibitions. For the brand Remini, the students experimented with creating journals and author books while for the Tuli Company they designed ideas for bean chairs, and for Bratislava's Flóra, a series of posters were created.
