The exhibition subtitled The traces of folklore in the current design of the Visegrad countries, offers an unusual vision of young artists from Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia at the traditional folklore. In a broad spectrum and diversity of arts and crafts and original design, the exhibition project Folklore is Alive! offers a common language of creative genius.
The presentation should be an encouragement to young creators. The usage of quality materials, creativity and connection with local traditions does not mean a conservative return. Folksiness and expressions of vernacular art, an idyllic life with a high degree of exaggeration and humour, and the crafts knowledge, may, without any exaggeration, become an important asset in a globalized world. The exhibition is opened to the public in ÚĽUV Gallery in Bratislava from 23.6. 2011 until 15.10.2011.
