ÚĽUV and the Royal Norwegian Embassy invite you to a unique exhibition of contemporary Norwegian arts and crafts Constructions. The opening of the exhibition is planned for 9th November 2011, 17:00 pm in the ÚĽUV Gallery Bratislava. Constructions will be opened for the public until 21th January 2012.

As the title suggests, the exhibition is based on the concept of "Construction". This term is used in many fields, including architecture, engineering, geometry, music and languages. There are many methods of construction, from working on one object up to combining different elements. In the field of arts and crafts, the "construction" is used to describe methods for generating both three-dimensional forms and patterns on surfaces, or their fusion.

Curator Edith Lundebrekke chose artists who approach construction differently, especially within wood and textiles creation. One thing common for all of them - they have developed their own individual methods of constructing in order to create a formal, structural and organizational basis for their distinctive visual expression. Some have a strong connection to the traditions, others are more experimental, but all are based on the traditions of arts and crafts.
