TRADITION AND INHERITANCE – Slovak folk craft today

The Centre for Folk Art Production together with the Museum for Folk Art Production prepare in Riga, Latvia reinstallation of the successful exhibition From Hand to Hand – The Handing Down of Crafts that accentuates the values of significant elements of the Slovak folk art production. The collection of works of Mr. Ľubomír and Štefan Smržík, the wood-carver Mrs. Jana Majerská, the jeweller Mr. Ladislav Volek or the wood-carving brothers Mr. Peter, Ľubomír and Vincent Bandúr can be seen in the capital of Latvia on exhibition entitled Tradition and Inheritance – Slovak Folk Craft Today in Rīgas Jūgendstila centrs from 28th September 2017 to 19th November 2017.

vyKROJenô in London

The Centre for Folk Art Production has been documenting the traditional folk clothes in Slovakia on a long-term basis. In 70 years of its history ÚĽUV has been part of the key stages of the traditional folk clothes development in various directions. The exhibition vyKROJenô offers an insight into its own collections and playfully provides pictures of history that help visitors perceive vast cultural heritage of our ancestors. After its success in Bratislava, the exhibition will be open to public from 5th June 2017 to 28 July 2017 in the Embassy of Slovak Republic in London, UK.
