A new publication by Irena Pišútová, Fajansa na Slovensku/Faience in Slovakia, could be perceived as a sequel to her successful book, released within the Folk Art in Slovakia edition by Tatran Publishers in 1981.

ÚĽUV’s latest book, published within the Traditions Today series brings informative texts complemented by new wealth of knowledge that the authoress has gained in her professional capacity over the last twenty years. Moreover, there is a new chapter devoted to the Habaner ceramics in central Slovakia. However, the most wonderful aspect of this publication is perhaps an entirely new selection of beautiful, striking photographs. In addition to artefacts from private collections, the authoress presents here also various artefacts from the collections of the following institutions: Balneological Museum Piešťany; Bratislava City Museum; Danube Region Museum in Komárno; Slovak National Museums: Museum of History in Bratislava, Ethnographic Museum in Martin, Červený Kameň Castle Museum in Častá; Central Slovakia Museum in Banská Bystrica, Záhorie Museum in Skalica and Western Slovakia Museum in Trnava. These unique photographs are complemented by a list of jug-makers’ marks or workshops then producing faience. The book is published in both Slovak and English.
