Lovely Christmas balls
by Ingrid Abrahamfyová
Under the title Lovely Christmas balls, the ÚĽUV Design Studio is going to host the exhibition of Christmas balls and other decorations. Professional artists and students of secondary art schools under the guidance of their teachers have contributed to the exhibition with their works. It was a surprise for majority of them to discover that it is not an easy thing to make an elegant and lovely Christmas ball. Organisers have one condition for the authors – to design two sets of balls – one set may be a projection of their creativity including their wildest ideas and the other set should be designed for mass production. The balls have faithfully uncovered the specialisation of each designer – balls that illustrators have produced are distinguishable from those made by jewellery designers and balls from textile designers vary from the items of other designers.
