Reflection of mind
by Adriena Pekárová
The 11th Textile miniature 2009 jury award winner and Japan artist Yuka Kawai has an exhibition of her work in Bratislava. Artwork Reflection was designed exclusively for the stone hall of the former Arts Center in Bratislava. Light and shadow are Yuka´s inspiration and she uses fine textile structures. She uses fibre and textile principles, materials and techniques for her creative work. Also, she likes to work with flax. However, she uses other materials if necessary – as in Reflection which she has made from synthetic fibre.
