To become familiar with wood... by Monika Wokaunová
The ÚĽUV Regional Centre of Crafts in Banská Bystrica seeks to preserve and introduce traditional techniques in the region of central Slovakia. The organisation offers courses of woodcarving, wood chiselling, pipes making and wood tin-casting for general public. There are no specific skills necessary to register at the above courses. Course participants learn how to work with wood and tools and apply their creativity in decorating techniques. Atmosphere at the course is important and motivating, too. Course participants feel comfortable among people with the same interests. They make products, learn and spend time meaningfully and they make friends with other course participants.
