The ÚĽUV for teachers, teachers for children and youngsters
by Zuzana Palicová The National Educational Program allows schools to develop school-specific educational programs reflecting regional and local requirements and opportunities. A school may develop a vocational part of the program in collaboration with the regional institutions and organisations. Schools may involve region-specific subjects including folk culture and craft techniques into the program. The ÚĽUV has developed two types of activities for schools – education for teachers and cooperation between schools and the ÚĽUV regional centres of crafts. Schools may use creative workshops and excursions as offered by the ÚĽUV to enhance classes of visual art, aesthetics, geography, etc. The program refers to the innovations in the national educational program, namely the theme Regional Education and Traditional Folk Culture.
