Woodcarving symposium in the village of Hamuliakovo
by Miro Pokorný
A small village near Bratislava, Hamuliakovo, hosted the first woodcarving symposium from 18 until 26 July 2007. The symposium organised a local woodcarver, 16-year old Ladislav Kránitz with 4-year experience in woodcarving. He is a regular participant at woodcarving events, symposiums and meetings, in Slovakia and abroad. He invited four woodcarvers and announced the theme – above lifesize biblical figures from Bethlehem. The artwork they produced will be displayed in soon-to-be-opened Kránitz Gallery near the water barrier in Hamuliakovo.
