Wearable
by Zuzana Šidlíková
The term reflects products connected to a body and a specific personality of their wearers. By wearing, clothes and jewellery become active parts of social communication. They are influenced by fashion and trends as well as limits of body and utilisation. The same idea was presented at an exhibition held in the SCD Satellite. The exhibition presented works of the graduates of the S+M+L_XL Metal and Jewellery studio and Clothing Design studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. In addition to general prerequisite of being wearable, the works are a creative game played between craft and author-specific mythology. Thesis projects as well as older artworks were presented at the exhibition. Audience at the exhibition may have translated the project they saw into a funny manual expanding their own limits of what is and what is not wearable.
