Violin makers at a competition
by Miloš Šípka
The first national competition of violin makers was organised in November 2006. Seven of thirty violin makers active in Slovakia registered with ten violins and one viola. Juraj Vančík with a violin and viola from Bratislava won the competition. The competition presented an optimistic overview of the violin production in Slovakia. We have skilful and qualified violin makers who may win Slovakia firm position among violin makers in Europe.
