Lukáš Janoška: Cartman beauty
The 3rd year of the cartman’s competition took place in February 2005 at Pohorelá at Horehronie region (Central Slovakia). Transporting logs of wood from the forests by carts with bull or horse yokes has a long tradition in the woody region of Horehronie. The cartman’s work still provides employment for many families in the woody regions of Slovakia, and many of the cartmen are young men less than thirty years old. This gathering of horses and carts from various parts of Slovakia linked demonstrations of professional abilities with a show of the physical beauty of the animals decorated with rich tackle.
