Viera Kleinová: Very short waves (Felt textile design)
A joint project by Nikoleta Píšová and Jany Havlovičová, presented in the Design Studio of ÚĽUV under the name Veľmi Krátke Vlnenie (Very Short Waves) is in the words of the authors a reaction to the insufficient, simplistic and unoriginal offer of home textile and accessories in our market. Therefore, they decided to make patterns for a series of textile elements that can be implemented under the conditions of home textile making. The concept of the project was mainly based on the technique of felting, which the authors were introduced to in detail during their study stay in Helsinki. For the exhibition at the Design Studio of ÚĽUV they prepared a collection of mainly felt interior elements from wool and cotton such as carpets, stools, wall decorations or table accessories such as bowls.
