Mária Riháková: Prints of Prague architecture
The Prague Project 2000 + 1 Searching for a Lost Elegance brought a new view to clothing design at the end of the 1990’s. In 2000, the fourth year of the cycle, the topic of the project became Prague itself and its genius loci. Twenty fashion designers and jewellers were influenced by gothic, baroque, and their gardens or cloister terraces, while others were influenced by 20th Century architecture. These architectural works became the models for clothing designers, whose creations copied well-known Prague facades, exteriors and interiors. The opening of the exhibition took place at Prague Castle during November 2000, while the last presentation was held in Stockholm during May 2003.
