From the archive / Artist and producer
In previous chapters of the archive, we focused on the topics of traditional Slovak culture objects. In this part we have decided to choose objects created as merchandise for ÚLUV. They demonstrate the successful entries of artists into artistic craft production based on traditional culture and its implementation. The authors derived their designs from craft technologies closely connected with original domestic shaping. In comparison to other folk art production, their products demonstrated a significant artistic act. They have become economically successful items, and several of them are still produced. They were created mainly in cooperation with producers, who needed to solve the implementation of technologically demanding or problem-causing areas in the production of a pattern piece. The photographs show producers who participated in their creation and further mass production of the depicted objects.
