Ľubica Hustá: Robust Glass
Palo Macho, an artist from the younger generation of Slovak glassmakers, is one of those who have concentrated on the technique of so-called layered glass in Slovakia. This is glass smelted and layered in a metallic form. Palo Macho's artistic programme is built on connecting glass technologies with those of painters. He transfers the drawing and painting onto and into the glass. He concentrates mainly on free creations but also creates objects of a utilitarian character, for example bowls or glass partitions. Recently, he has also been investigating blown glass.
