Bobbins and bobbin lace in a different light
by Ľubica Hustá
Three pieces of work from students of the third class from the semester work of students from the Studio of free textile creation of the University of Arts in Bratislava were presented under the supervision of Ms. Eva Cisárová-Mináriková. One of the priorities in teaching conception is to master the traditional technologies of processing textiles and their transformation into a free creation. The semester’s topic was painting frost, silver thaw and ice accretion on a window. Students were to express this by means of bobbin lace. They could use various materials, but the result was expected to be non-colourful, or more precisely in winter colours. Their inspiration had no borders.
